- Introduction
- Trish, a co-owner of the Physiotherapy Division of the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre, graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation. After graduation, she worked In New Zealand, Australia and Montreal before returning to Vancouver. She earned her postgraduate Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy in 1985 and her Acupuncture accreditation (CAFCI) in 2003.
Trish has sat on numerous committees in her professional associations over the years and served as the Chair of Sport Physiotherapy Canada from 1980 – 1982. She has been selected as a physiotherapist to a number of international teams including World Student Games (FISU 1985), Pan Am Games (1987), Summer Olympics (1988 & 1992) & Commonwealth Games (2002, 2006). She was the Venue Athlete Medical Supervisor (VMS) for Curling at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She has worked extensively with rugby from the local level with the UBC Old Boy Ravens to BC Provincial Rep Teams and Rugby Canada’s National Men’s team as a therapist& coordinator (7’s, 15’s, age-grade International tournaments & World Championships and 1999 World Cup.)
Trish has over 30 years experience working with elite athletes in many sports including not only rugby, but also swimming, dance, tennis and other racquet sports. She also enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities who want to maintain or improve their level of activity and healthy lifestyle.
- Hobbies, activities or interest
- When Trish isn’t traveling, she likes to spend time on the tennis court or working in her garden. She can also be found jogging slowly on the beach or in her neighborhood looking at other people’s gardens.
